+* Schraube die Trommel mit der konkaven Seite nach Außen vollständig auf die Nabe.
+* Montiere den Bremsenkörper so dass die Trommel vom Körper verdeckt wird und das Band direkt über der Bremsfläche der Trommel liegt. Dazu muss man unter Umständen die Unterlegscheiben der Nabenachse neu sortieren.
+* Schraube die [[Kontermutter]] auf dem Bremsenkörper fest.
+* Montiere das Laufrad und richte das Befestigungsband der Bremse an der Kettenstrebe aus. Schraube die Achsenmuttern fingerfest.
+* Befestige das Klemmband und überprüfe, dass der Bremsenkörper nicht aus seiner Position gezogen wurde.

+Um eine Bandbremse auszubauen, nimmt man zuerst das Laufrad heraus, entfernt Kontermutter und Bremsenkörper, Nun schiebt Stifte (aus Metall) in die beiden Löcher der Trommel, klemmt diese im [[Schraubstock]] ein. Nun dreht man das Laufrad rückwärts und schraubt so die Trommel ab.

-*    Tighten the axle locknut onto the shell.
-*    Install the wheel, aligning the clamp band with the chainstay, and with the axle nuts finger tight.
-*    Attach the clamp band to the seatstay. Make sure that the clamp band does not pull the shell out of line.
-*    Finish tightening the axle nuts.
-*    Adjust the adjuster bolts on the shell so the band is just short of rubbing on the drum.
-*    Install the cable and adjust it for minimal free play at the brake lever without the brake's rubbing.
-To remove a band brake, remove the wheel from the bicycle, remove the locknut and the shell, and insert pins (metal rods) into a vise and into two holes opposite one another in the drum. Rotate the wheel backwards to unscrew the drum.
