Sie schummeln ein wenig und kombinieren eine niederigere Übersetzung, damit der höchste Gang nicht völlig nutzlos wird. dann ist jedoch der mittlere Gang im Flachen nicht wirklich zu gebrauchen. Eine Dreigang-Nabe funktioniert besser, wenn man [[Ritzel]] oder [[Kettenblatt]] tauscht und alle Übersetzungen heruntersetzt. Dann funktioniert der höchste Gang im Flachen hervorragend und man hat den kleinsten und mittleren Gang für Beschleunigung und Bergauffahrten zur Verfügung.
