-Stiffness results when the headset is adjusted too tight. Check for this by lifting the front of the frame so that the front wheel comes off the ground. Normally, the wheel and handlebar will flop to one side or the other by their own weight when you do this. If the front wheel and handlebars are off the bicycle and you turn the fork, you may feel a light, smooth, even drag from bearing seals -- this is normal. Roughness or uneven drag indicate problems.
+Wenn der Steuersatz zu stark vorgespannt ist, wird er schwergängig. Das kann man feststellen, indem man das Fahrrad vorne (nicht am Lenker!) anhebt, so dass das Vorderrad in der Luft ist. Normalerweise wird das Vorderrad sich durch sein Eigengewicht zur einen oder anderen Seite hin bewegen. Im Montageständer bei demontiertem Lenker und Vorderrad spürt man beim bewegen der Gabel einen sanften, gleichmäßigen Zug durch die Kugellagerdichtungen. Das ist völlig normal. Rauheit oder Ungleichmäßigkeiten in der Bewegung deuten auf Probleme hin.
